Safely Arrived at Home
We praise the Lord for His great blessings!! We have all arrived safe and well home from Romania! We thank you and rejoice over your prayers and support for us! We thought that daily updating a blog would be pretty easy (and frankly a nice distraction) but the Lord had other plans! It was a great reminder to us that we were there for HIS work and not our own. Since we have not informed you of any of the goings on during the last week of camp we figured we would publish an overall summary of everything that occured! This post will be coming soon (we want to make sure we get every team members input so that you can have the fullest picture of what occurred).
Again, we are all arrived safe, and again we want you to know that God did powerful work there and in the lives of the children we were so blessed to work with!!! We have our final team meeting tonight and we will post the blog soon after! We love you and God is good!

What a week!
Praise the Lord and again we are sorry for the late post but we have been SWAMPED with good work! Since the last update Melissa has recieved her bag with not a thing stolen from it! Such an answer to prayer and just in time! Turns out that it was the ONLY bag that actually made it to Bucharest on-time but some one mistook it for theirs and took it home, but they returned it without disturbing any of the contents. She is a very happy woman!
The first week of camp ended with many smiles, hugs, and quite a few tears. Camp this week was wonderful, with moments of much laughter and joy, as well as some touching and moving moments with the campers. Our activities ranged from soccer tournaments to a HUGE water fight that left everyone in the camp dripping wet and basking in the sunshine which has lasted all week! The Romanian team established a very disciplined transfer between activities which allowed for the most possible activity for the campers, including plenty of free/quiet time to interact with us. We spent our time playing with and loving on the kids, and we know for sure that there is one new believer among them! He is a great kid and it is so exciting to see the effort of 5 years of work (much done by Marcel) come to fruition. We are all so joyful over it! We also got to spend plenty of time building up and encouraging all the kids.
We were plagued by power outages over the last couple of days, but even without running water the Lord provided for us in the most outstanding ways! The evening when the power was out all night also provided us an amazing opportunity to look at the stars here... When you see them here you can truly understand why the Psalms say that the Heavens and Earth declare the glory of God.
Saying good-bye is always hard, especially because we know that the majority of these children come from lives that are more difficult that most of us can imagine, but there are two things that make the parting easier. First, the hugs, smiles, an sincerity of the children in their joyful, if teary, farewells let us know that their hearts were touched while here at the camp, and their lives are changed for the better! Second; the great, big, loving, compassionate, kind, caring, merciful, just, mighty God that we know, knows and loves each one of those little ones better than we ever can! Entrusting them to His care makes the parting a little easier.
We will try and post a few pictures and update more regularly now that we have an intern here to help with the work load! LOTS of prep to do for the arrival of the Orlatt orphanage girls this weekend! Please pray for us! Now some from each team member!
Alisha: Week one done, the town kids are gone (*tear*). Please pray that this next week is just as wonderful and rewarding as this last.
Cee Cee: The joy of this week was to be with teens that were sooo.....easy to love. The National Romanian Team was a blessing in all things as we worked together to make this week ONE wonderful family. Time went by too fast and as we said goodbye we knew that our hearts were full of with the most fantastic memories for a life time.
Please continue to prayer for our team to have good health and rest and bond with the new Romanian team.
Ginny: Praise God for this amazing week! I felt His hand in all of our affairs, from the coordination of activities and work duties to worship and fellowship time. It was so cool to see everyone come together in unity and offer a hand when it was needed. Those kids were so awesome! I made some great bonds and will keep them close to my heart. Goodbyes were tough, but I have faith that God has planted the seeds leaving them with an experience to remember for a lifetime! Prayers for the upcoming week are much needed and appreciated. I'll be resting this weekend in prep for new adventures to come! God is so great! I love you all!
John: (Writing for my dad) God worked amazingly this week! The older boys attached themselves to him this past week. All of them loved to play "volley" with "John". It was neat seeing how much they looked up to a father type figure. Those boys were truly in awe of being able to spend time with him and just be able to try to speak English to him. The kids were wonderful and we all enjoyed making relationships with the campers. God blessed our team tremedously!! Just keep praying for all of us, as we are all very tired and not getting full amounts of sleep.
Josh: God has shown us so much this week. To see so much happen in these kids lives in such a short time is truly of God. They have left an impression on my heart that will never leave. God blessed us, allowing us to see that the kids had the best time they could. Please pray that we continue to rely on God's strength especially as we become more wore down.
Melissa: Can I just say how amazing the Lord is?! God is so good! This week has been amazing. The first day, I was sort of nervous about talking with the kids because of the language barrier. But as the Lord is so faithful to show us, He is more than able to bridge any differences that lie between His children. It was so amazing to learn some Romanian and ask the kids how to say certain words and phrases so that we could make simple conversation. But God was so awesome to bless us beyond simple conversations: He used us to connect with the kids on a personal level. Everyday, even though I was always exhausted when I woke up, I felt so much joy and energy just being around them. Thank you so much for praying that the kids hearts would be prepared to hear God's Word! Continue to pray for the girls coming next week. I KNOW God will move and work in AMAZING ways!!!
ALSO, thanks to everyone who prayed for my luggage. It finally arrived to me on Thursday, but God taught me so much about relying on Him. He doesn't always give us what we want or what we think will make us most comfortable, but He will ALWAYS provide for what we need. Praise the Lord!!! Love you all! Have a good week! -Romans 8 (AMAZING!!!)
Vicky: Wow this past week has been beyond incredible. All the teens were amazing and welcomed us right away. I loved hanging out with all of them, playing ping pong with the boys and futbol with everyone else. God moved in incredible ways and it was neat to see how accepting they were of God's word. It was hard to say goodbye today, but I look forward to seeing most in the future. I was able to learn how to show love to others just by the love they shared. Even though we went through a lot this week we had the most amazing time ever. God blessed our team in so many ways. Keep us in our prayers as we start with a new week with new campers.
Daniel: It is late.... I wrote the first bit... we will update more tomorrow... love you! :)

Praise the Lord and Pray for Rest
Greetings in the name of the Lord! Apologies for the blog not being updated it was the result of long hours, late arrivals, and the internet being down, but all the problems we have here at camp are of good quality! We have lots of boisterous children, safely arrived from the villages, running around and wanting our attention (WHICH IS AWESOME!!)
Yesterday the children and the members of the Romanian team arrived. The rain from the previous days had caused some problems with transportation to the camp so the children started appearing around 6pm as opposed to the usual noon arrival. We had orientation then a wonderful evening of food and fellowship! Bedtime came very late, which hopefully will not be too common of an occurance, but the circumstances warrented it!
The members of the Romanian team are wonderful people with such a heart for service! The leader is the same man from last year, Ionuti, and a couple of others were here last year as well. We are looking forward to forming some friendships and a team which can reach the kids with the love intended for them by their Creator.
Special thanksgiving that we have had only one head of lice, which was a boy which makes it so much easier to deal with!!! That is totally an answer to prayer! We have another great thanksgiving that 15 of our 16 bags have made it to the camp! However we ask for sepcial prayers for Melissa who is without any of her personal effects or clothes. They do not know exactly where her bag is at the moment either. Patience and a joyful spirit, which she continues to exhibit, are the desired prayer. Special blessings for the other girls of the team for giving and sharing with her to help her make it through!
As the days proceed the team will continue to get more and more worn down so we ask that you pray for peace and rest! We are working together so well and we have been laughing and laughing! Such a wonderful team that the Lord has assembled, including you reading this!
We love and miss you all! Grace and peace! More from each team member to come!

Greetings from Romania!
Buna! Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and protection! After a flight delay that landed us late in London, an escorted SPRINT through the Heathrow airport, possibly the most turbulent ride any team member has ever been on into Bucharest, and the ever hair-raising five hour drive through the Romanian countryside, we find ourselves joyful and fairly well rested in the Camp of the Good Shepherd!
Please pray for our luggage which did not make it to Bucharest (all 17 bags), leaving some of the team who did not bring a change of clothes in their carry-on a bit more, shall we say, fragrant than the rest. We will spend today (Sunday the 19th) preparing the camp and our activities as best as we can without the crafts and equipment packed in our luggage.
Despite some swollen ankles, bumpy rides, and a little nausea we are all excited to do the Lords work here in Romania! What an honor it is to be partners in the Great Commission! We are praying and rejoicing over you at home, and we ask that you do the same! May God bless and keep you!
And now some quick notes from each team member-
Josh: Thank you for all your prayers, It has been an adventure getting here. Looking forward to all that God has planned.
Ginny: Hello friends and family! I am so thankful for all of your prayers! I am so excited to be back and looking foreward to the kids! It is SO BEAUTIFUL here! Love you =)
Melissa: Hi everyone! Please be praying for our health, luggage and the up coming week. Thanks
Alisha: Hi there all! We made it, praise the Lord!
Vicky: Hey everyone!! We are all safe and already super pumped.. pray for our luggage!!
John: Good morning! Thank you for your prayers. We are excited about the arrival of the kids and anticipating the arrival of our luggage also. Flexibility will be important this coming week.
Cee Cee:Wow! God is AWESOME! Safe and WELL! Rain today and HOT tomorrow.
Safety for all the campers who arrive tomorrow evening.
Daniel: Ce faci brethren? Be blessed this week and we are SO grateful for your prayers!

Faithful God!
Praise God for His faithfulness! Last weekend we had our final BBQ fundraiser for scholarships. The turn out was great! Our church family had a lovely afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship. Many came to support the team and to worship with us. At the end, we all worshiped together as Team Romania lead the group with the 5 main songs we will sing with the Romanian kids. As far as funds, we do have more to raise, but the fundraiser brought us $1,100 closer to the goal! Praise God for His faithfulness! Sunday, July 5th, we had a team meeting and discovered just how greatly God continues to bring in the financial support we need. There are 11 days until we leave, and we are so thankful for everyone who has been praying for our preparation, financial support, our health, etc., and we will continue to trust God to bring in the remaining funds we need. Thank you for keeping up with us!

Almost the weekend!
The weekend BBQ is approaching fast and the time to leave for Romania is coming quickly! It has been so wonderful for us all to get to see one another during the week, often at prayer meetings, at our small groups, and even at work! God is truly blessing the time we are spending together before our travel. Praise You, Lord of the universe, that You hear our prayers and remain in our midst!
"Now these are Your servants and Your people whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man."... Nehemiah 1:10-11
(Just a side note: when we think it's all about us, check out a verse like this where the Lord is referred to 11 times in 2 sentences! Woah! May all of our words glorify Him!)
Prayer Meeting
We will be meeting for prayer at 6:15 am Thursday to pray for the BBQ this weekend, as well as our team members, and the children who will come to the camp. Please join us as we dedicate this time for prayer, we hope you can commit to do so as well. We are trusting God more than ever as we run short on funds and it will be by His grace and the intercession of those offering prayer that we raise the money needed to send the kids to camp. Many Thanks to you for your care and support of the Team! May God bless you this week!
"Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others." 1 Timothy 6:17-18 NLT

Saturday, June 20, 2009
Hello Friends and Family! We are so grateful for your prayers thus far and urge you to continue praying for us- Team Romania 2009, as well as the Romanian children and camp leaders we will soon meet. Praise God! Our plane tickets have been purchased! Although our funds are much lower than we would hope, we will continue to trust in God to keep providing in whatever means is His will. It is now essential that we raise the funds to send the children to camp, so, we will be having a fundraiser for the children's camp scholarships on June 28, 2009 at Mission Oaks Park. It is $70 for each child and we will have 100-120 camp kids! Please pray for this event and the hearts attending! Thank you for keeping up with us and for all of your prayers!
"So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding." Colossians 1:9

Camp activities! (Nightly program)
The team met last weekend and decided on several activities to include in our nightly worship. As some may know, the US team that attends camp (that's us, woo hoo!) has specific responsibilities, one of those being the nightly program. At the end of the day (about 8pm-10pm) we will have worship and an activity. Last year, after music, we gave testimonies, and this year we will incorporate that idea, but have also (by popular interest) decided to add a puppet show! This will give us a chance to involve the kids into the evangelistic stories and it should be very entertaining! Other things we hope to include would be: application stories and/or Q&A session. Please pray for the children's hearts to be opened by the Lord and that what we prepare is blessed by Him. Please pray the Lord will use us for His will only and that the language barrier would not intimidate anyone, leaders or kids. We truly appreciate all of your prayers and are blessed by the assurance that as we seek God's will in our lives, He leads our path and is glorified by our actions. We pray that your lives are touched and blessed as you pray for our team and others, as we are all one in Christ. More info on potential games and crafts coming soon!
"Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29-30
"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one spirit we were all baptized into one body- whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free- and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many." 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

We need and desire your prayer...
Those team members who can, meet weekly at 6:15 am on Thursday mornings to pray. We strongly believe in the power of prayer and trust that as we pray for God's will in our lives and in this mission, He moves. Please join us by dedicating a time to pray for Team Romania and surrounding concerns, praying faithfully and expectantly!
"Dear brothers (and sisters), I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your Love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:30
"Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops. " James 5:15-18
We will share specific prayer needs throughout. Thank you!
